Life in Germany_illustrationIllustration by Me. :0)

Here is a little bit of my life in this wonderful town we call Hamburg. In today’s chapter: “The way to work”.

This is what I see every day on my journey from my apartment to the Advertising Agency where I work:

The view from my window:

Some cute houses on my street and neighbourhood:

Then I jump on the subway and a couple of stations later, I’m standing opposite the Town Hall in the city centre:

I walk past some of the gorgeous canals by the river. They look like this during the winter:

And like this during spring:

I pass some very cute shop windows:

And next thing I know, I’m at the agency!

Hamburg is a beautiful city! It reminds me a little of Stockholm: it’s clean, efficient, perfect from every angle and it’s surrounded by water everywhere, which makes it fresh and happy.

Now that the weather is getting warmer, walking around, having lunch or coffee outside and visiting the parks is that much more enjoyable. My next objective is to get a bike so I can enjoy Germany’s (undoubtedly short) summer as much as I can!

Lots of love from sunny Deutschland,

From the White Horse, with Love” is a short fiction zine self-published by two friends of mine from New York: Richard Keeshan and the super talented Danielle Blumstein, my roommate when I lived in the East Village.

I did all the illustrations.

The stories are great and the project is very, very cool. I love working on collaborations like this. Always a pleasure.

If anyone is interested, I have a few issues to give away. Message me here and I’ll get in touch!

Lots of Love from Deutschland.

Happy New Year!!

Yes, this is my first blog post of 2013. No, I am not proud of this shameful delay. I do have a good excuse though: my life has gone through so many changes, that I just couldn’t find the time (or the discipline) to sit down and work on this blog. I missed it terribly though, and often thought about it. For me, blogging provides an ideal space, not just to publicize personal work (in my case, illustration and photography), but also to speak a little bit about art, travelling and what inspires me, hopefully inspiring others in return, of course.

So without further ado, this is what happened, in a nutshell:

After New York…

I moved to Hamburg, in Germany.

Hamburg

Life has been pretty wonderful (and totally hectic!) and I am very much in love with this city. Work is great, the people are lovely and the city itself is absolutely gorgeous. My next post is going to be about some of the amazing things I’ve been seeing around here and also some illustration work I have done lately. I have tons of stuff to show, so come back and have a look!

Lots of love from Deutschland.

The third issue of Lionheart Magazine is out in the UK. It’s the Adventure Issue and it’s STUNNING!

This was my latest collaboration. I illustrated the World’s best brownie recipe which, for a chocolate addict such as myself, couldn’t have been more perfect. My brief was: “Illustrate a Chocolate Goddess”. Here is a little work in progress and the final piece:

 (Gorgeous cover by Gemma Milly)

I had such a brilliant time making this illustration, adding in all the details, patterns and colors. It’s quite elaborate line work which is what I like doing best, so I’m pretty happy with it.

You can order your copy here.

Lots of love.

I am honored and oh, so proud to have been featured on none other than the BBC Travel blog The Passport. Yes baby, the BBC!

The lovely people at BBC are running a special feature on the illustrated maps produced for They Draw and Travel. My very pink and very girlie “Les Cafés de Paris” was one of the chosen ones.  Check it out:

I’m so very proud!

Lots of love from Switzerland.
