I had originally illustrated her when I was living in New York, 2 years ago. I wasn’t blogging very frequently (It was my first time in New York, you see, and there was so much to do!), but I was drawing a lot, all the time and everywhere!

One of my best friends from there loved this illustration and she would always mention it in our emails and chats. I had forgotten about it for a while until this morning. For some reason, I woke up thinking about it! It took me a while to find it among my several back up folders, but here it is! :0) Looking at it makes me happy. It brings back a lot of good memories.

See it in my shop here.

A Victorian House and an Etsy shop!

A few days ago I started painting a little Victorian house.

House_03

These houses are everywhere in England. They look so cute, with their red bricks, chimneys and tamed gardens… Bigger versions of doll houses, really. I never get tired of looking at them.

A few days after I completed this painting, I finally opened my first Etsy shop! I have been talking about it for a while and it’s finally happened! I can’t believe it has taken me such a long time to do this. I have loved Etsy for YEARS… It’s all done now and I am incredibly excited. To celebrate, I decided to list this piece for sale at a special price. It’s a one-off, watercolour original, signed by the artist (me!).

I think it looks cute on a white frame, wouldn’t you agree? It’s the kind of “happy illustration” that I love producing. If you like it, you can purchase it here.

I have a couple of other things in the shop too, take a look! It’s still early days so bear with me. I am stocking up on A LOT of goodies!

New shop opening soon

I have received the most beautiful art prints for my new shop! I am opening an Etsy shop very soon and I’m stocking up on lots of fabulous goodies.

Here is a sneak peek of my Vintage Girls. They were printed on gorgeous Tintoretto Gesso paper, which is one of my favourite papers ever! It has a delicious texture that brings out the colors beautifully.

I illustrated these girls a while back but I’m still very proud of them. They seem to be rather popular too, which is so flattering! I think the soft tones and the details make this a very feminine piece. It looks quite lovely on a nice frame, I must say.

Stay tuned for more news about my Etsy shop. There will be lots of beautiful art there, as well as custom-made pieces to order. I have loved Etsy for years now (who hasn’t?) and I am beyond excited to be opening my own shop! I’ll let you all know as soon as it’s ready.

Lots of love from England.

Sisters

Hi everyone!

Let me introduce you to my Sisters. Say hello to them!

Sisters

These girls were inspired by European winters, in particular by a trip to Moscow that I went on last year. All the women looked so beautiful and elegant in their fur coats, I just had to draw them!

I decided to keep it in black and white and focus on the lines as much as possible. I wanted to recreate the look of the different textures I saw. In the end it worked like therapy for me: drawing line after line, detail after detail, adding in the shading and the volume, slowly building the illustration on paper… It’s my favourite process in the world!

Anyway, I’ve had this illustration for quite a while now and recently decided to put it on Society 6. I like the quality and the variety of products they have on offer and I LOVE to see my drawings applied to real objects! When I’m drawing I don’t really think about how my illustration would look as a wall clock or as a handbag, so it’s always an exciting surprise!

My Sisters are now available for purchase as art prints (framed or not, you choose!), as tote bags in various sizes, as wall clocks, pillows and a bunch of other nice goodies for you and your home!

New shop and new illustrations

I am utterly obsessed with Society6 right now. A few weeks ago, I decided to open my own Society6 shop and test their services. I guess I wanted to make sure that the quality was as good as they said it was, and that I was entirely satisfied before releasing some of my illustrations for sale (yes, I can be very annoying and suspicious sometimes). To my delight, the quality was in fact, as good as they say on the site! I ordered one of my own prints and the paper, the printing itself and the service were impeccable!

So here are two pieces that I decided to release especially on Society6. They were originally produced for a gallery exhibition that was canceled at the last minute but I had so much fun drawing and coloring them, I couldn’t keep them a secret forever, could I? Paris New York They can be bought as art prints in various sizes, as framed prints in a variety of frames (white, black, pecan, walnut, etc), as stretched canvases, as throw pilows, tote bags and wall clocks! Society6_merchandise I must admit, it is fun and exciting to see my illustrations applied to all these different products. I kind of want one of each! (Which is probably weird and a little narcissistic, but I can’t help it! ;0)
