This week has been crazy. In between doing advertising and illustration, I have hardly had time to do anything else.

I am currently developing more Willow Magic fashion illustrations for Wardrobe Mistress, which is such a great project! I am also illustrating two children’s books and a book of short stories, which are amazing projects too and VERY demanding. I am so glad Friday is finally here! Though I know the next 2 days won’t be enough for me to do everything I want to do:

I want to draw loads, but I also want to go out and enjoy the weather (preferably without the pollen allergies)

I want to finish the books I am reading

Just a quick note on this last beauty: Le journal du petit poucet or “The diaries of Tom Thumb is a French children’s book. It is so adorable and funny, I’m completely obsessed. Every page is stunning to look at. The illustrations are by Rebecca Dautremer, who is one of my favourite artists (I’ve talked about her before here) and it was written by Philippe Lechermeier. Unfortunately it is not available in English yet (I have it in Portuguese) but it should be very soon.

I usually read about 4-5 books at the same time, which is very chaotic but it’s how I like it. From trashy novels (love them!) to classics (love them too!), it takes me ages to read them, but in my defense, I always finish every single one.

I want to take pictures

I want to see something pretty

I want to hear something magical

Hello lover…the one and only Mr. Bowie. Photographed by David Wedgbury

I want to taste something wonderful

And finally, I want to sleep and sleep and sleep…

Is there anyone in the world who doesn’t love this film? Is there?

How about you? What do you want to do this weekend? :)

Lots of love from Lisbon

  1. Finished Memoirs of Cleopatra a month or so ago and found it fantastic. Funny, I’d tried reading it 6 years ago after picking it up in a used bookstore and just couldn’t. get. into it. This Spring I flew through it–guess it needs to be the right book at the right time. (I also have several books going at once as a general rule.)

This weekend is prep (decorations, lists) for next month’s big party and celebrating my best friend’s birthday.

Hope you at least get a little nap in at some point!

  2. I want to read. And write. And play boardgames with my kids. I want to bake a cake and eat it with my love by the kitchen table drinking some hot hot hot coffee. I want to forget the hard week I have just been through and believe that, one day, I will laugh about some recent events that, right now, make me really sad.

And I want to come back here and drool over this beautiful post of yours.

  3. I have been away from the blogsphere and consequently now have a lot of catching up to do! I have thoroughly enjoyed catching up on your recent posts and hope you have a chance to achieve some of your aims this weekend. My to do list just keeps getting longer, so I understand :)

  4. Hi Lindy!
Oh God, things are crazy! But it’s my own doing I guess. I just take on too many projects at the same time.
I hope you’re well in amazing Italy!
    Lots of love.

  5. Hi sweety,
You will be able to laugh about these recent sad events. Just give it time. And be patient.
In the meantime, you’ll always have your beautiful kids and a hubby you adore and who adores you back. Plus your incredible writing skills! Let’s not forget about that! Your talent is a blessing.

  6. Yes, I have been reading it for a few weeks now. I’ve been enjoying it though. It’s not the most incredible book I’ve ever read, but it’s good fun.
I’m not that picky when it comes to books. I’ll read James Joice, Saramago and Harry Potter at the same time. I don’t care! With the exception of Stephen King and Paulo Coelho (Argh!), I’ll read pretty much anything. :)
Hope you had fun at the party!
