This is my new favorite film.
I have been a fan of Woody Allen’s for many years. I think I’ve pretty much watched everything he’s ever done. He can do no wrong in my eyes (please note that I’m talking about his work here, not his personal life).
Anyway, Midnight in Paris is so delightful I can’t recommend it enough! The storyline is great and the cast is impeccable. Without giving too much away, I particularly loved Corey Stoll (from Law and Order) as Hemingway. I don’t watch much TV so I didn’t even know who he was. Great performance though, just the right mixture of ego, suffering and comedy. Typical Woody Allen material, really. – If you haven’t seen it, go watch it now!

It’s true, think about it:
Every corner has a pastry shop;
Or a flower shop;
Or a chocolaterie;
Or a perfumarie.
Women are everywhere. The take over every sidewalk, every garden, every museum wall:

♥ And everywhere, there is pink:

Paris is a constant monument in honor of women and all things female.
I love being a girl. But being a girl in Paris is even more lovely than usual. :)

I am so excited about my latest drawing! I couldn’t wait to share it here.
Over the weekend, I illustrated a map of my favorite cafes in Paris for They Draw and Travel.

It’s not your usual map, I know, but if you look closely, all the vital information is there: the street name, the metro station, the river Seine and finally, the cafes: Les deux Magots, Leon, Café de Flore and Brasserie Lipp. I recommend each one of them. They are lovely.
This was such a joy to draw. It made me miss Paris like crazy.

♥ Just the other day I found this incredible collection of photographs called “A Soldier’s Farewell”, by Alfred Eisenstaedt. They were taken at Pennsylvania station in 1943 and I find them unbelievably moving.
We are so distant from the reality depicted in those images that for me, they almost look like stills from old movies. It’s weird to think that this actually happened. They are sad pictures of course, but also so full of love and elegance, I can’t help finding them inspiring and beautiful.
Eisenstaedt was a true genius and amazing at capturing people. Look at some of his work here.
♥ New Paris-inspired Illustration
I am very excited about the new piece I am working on at the moment.
I can’t reveal too much about it just yet. All I can say is that it’s girlie, pink and French! Here is a little sneaky peek of the work in progress:
