Ticket to Dream Town and passport is all set (YES!). Now all I need to do is tackle my suitcase.

Things to bear in mind while packing:

♥ It has been snowing in Dream Town. Temperatures ranging from 0 to minus 7. Nothing too dramatic, I guess (I have experienced the minus 20s before so I’m pretty sure I’ll survive), but still: need to pack scarves, coats, hats, boots and gloves. It’ll be weird having come from a 35-plus Celsius summer in Brazil and going to a bellow freezing winter in Dream Town in the space of two weeks. Weird as in good-weird, not bad-weird because to be honest, nothing gets me down these days. Cold: I am not scared of you!

♥ Accommodation is all set. Location is great. Everything seems to be in order. My new flatmates: 2 girls and a chiwawa puppy called Gangster. :) I haven’t had a flatmate since university (boyfriends don’t count as flatmates, do they?), and I haven’t lived with a dog since childhood (I had a beagle called Wendy years ago). I have no idea what to expect, but everyone seems very nice and welcoming. Watch this space.

♥ Illustration material is neatly piled up, just waiting to be included. Markers, sketchbooks, watercolours, laptop, walcom tablet, pencils and paintbrushes. All ready to travel. New business cards are done too. The cutest I’ve ever printed so far! I almost feel sorry to hand them out.

♥ Cameras are ready to go. I was given a Canon G9 as a Christmas present and together with my genius 500D, they make the perfect team: one for proper good images, the other for fun stuff. Note to self: need to empty out all cards to make space for new pictures. My new hometown will be way too irresistible. I’m sure I’ll be snapping away left and right.

♥ Still not sure where I am heading? Here’s another clue:

It’s always wonderful being a woman. Be it in the sun or in the rain, in color or in black and white, it doesn’t matter.

There is always beauty to be had and beauty to behold.

Here is just a little illustration piece I did as a gift for a very dear friend of mine.

She loved it, which always makes me happy and brings a smile to my face.

Hello my lovelies,

Although the rest of Europe is already freezing over, it’s still summer over here in Lisbon and yes, I am not ashamed to admit it: I can’t wait for the temperatures to drop.

This may seem weird, but I love winter. Absolutely love it!

I know, I know… It’s an odd thing to say, especially coming from a Brazilian-born such as myself, but let me explain: you see, in winter you can eat cheese fondue and drink mulled wine. You can wrap yourself in a blanket and watch the rain falling outside. You can go to cosy cafés with friends and drink ridiculous amounts of hot chocolate. You can also stay in and watch old movies all weekend, if you want. In winter everything is snug and delicious.

In addition to that, winter looks beautiful. The air is clean and crispy, and people look great all day!

I love summer and I love spring, but winter fashion is definitely my favorite. That will never change for me. Winter clothes are elegant and flattering, the colors are classy, discreet and the fabrics have the most exquisite textures. Plus I have a huge crush on boots and scarves and I always miss wearing them during the warmer months.

I’ve been checking out beautiful online store Zalando for a bit of winter fashion inspiration and have been drooling over some of the items.

Like this navy blue coat from French Connection, for instance:

I love shape and love the buttons. The frilly details on the side add an extra touch of cuteness and softens an otherwise quite tough and masculine cut. It’s simply adorable!

This is me, wearing the coat. I think it suits me nicely.

Oh, and the scarves, of course. I can’t get enough of them.

Image source: all scarves are from Esprit.

That’s me again, wishing I had a million scarves!

These ankle boots from Blowfish and this knitted dress from Esprit are yummy too. Add some tights and together, they make a wonderful and practical winter outfit.

And surprise, surprise, they fit me perfectly! :)

All illustrations were done by me.

I’m all set, I guess. Now all I need is a little mist, frost, drizzle and snow. Come on Portugal, what are you waiting for? Don’t disappoint me!

Wishing you a beautiful weekend.

Lots of love from Lisbon.

I’m excited to announce that I have just opened my very own pint shop. It’s on Big Cartel and it’s gorgeous!

Now everyone will be able to buy high quality prints of some of my favorite pieces, all limited edition, all signed, controlled and posted by Moi!

I am planning to rotate the illustrations from time to time, so that the shop is always changing. I just think it’s more exciting that way.

I am also planning to create a couple of promotions and illustration giveaways. That way I will hopefully be able to make my work more readily available for everyone. Online shopping is so practical, it just makes sense, right? Coming to think of it, I should have done this ages ago!

So what are you waiting for? Why not add a little touch of creative sunshine to your day? Check out the store here and happy shopping!
