Hello my lovelies,
Although the rest of Europe is already freezing over, it’s still summer over here in Lisbon and yes, I am not ashamed to admit it: I can’t wait for the temperatures to drop.
This may seem weird, but I love winter. Absolutely love it!
I know, I know… It’s an odd thing to say, especially coming from a Brazilian-born such as myself, but let me explain: you see, in winter you can eat cheese fondue and drink mulled wine. You can wrap yourself in a blanket and watch the rain falling outside. You can go to cosy cafés with friends and drink ridiculous amounts of hot chocolate. You can also stay in and watch old movies all weekend, if you want. In winter everything is snug and delicious.
In addition to that, winter looks beautiful. The air is clean and crispy, and people look great all day!
I love summer and I love spring, but winter fashion is definitely my favorite. That will never change for me. Winter clothes are elegant and flattering, the colors are classy, discreet and the fabrics have the most exquisite textures. Plus I have a huge crush on boots and scarves and I always miss wearing them during the warmer months.
I’ve been checking out beautiful online store Zalando for a bit of winter fashion inspiration and have been drooling over some of the items.
♥ Like this navy blue coat from French Connection, for instance:
I love shape and love the buttons. The frilly details on the side add an extra touch of cuteness and softens an otherwise quite tough and masculine cut. It’s simply adorable!
This is me, wearing the coat. I think it suits me nicely.
♥ Oh, and the scarves, of course. I can’t get enough of them.
Image source: all scarves are from Esprit.
That’s me again, wishing I had a million scarves!
♥ These ankle boots from Blowfish and this knitted dress from Esprit are yummy too. Add some tights and together, they make a wonderful and practical winter outfit.
And surprise, surprise, they fit me perfectly! :)
All illustrations were done by me.
I’m all set, I guess. Now all I need is a little mist, frost, drizzle and snow. Come on Portugal, what are you waiting for? Don’t disappoint me!
For more fashion and winter inspiration, check out Zalando.
Wishing you a beautiful weekend.
Lots of love from Lisbon.

♥ I did these illustrations a couple of months ago for a denim-themed magazine. What a great idea, right? A magazine entirely dedicated to denim. Heaven!
The illustrations weren’t published in the end but the magazine is online. Check it out here. It’s very cute.
I am lucky to have a job where I don’t have to dress up everyday in suits, blazers and pencil skirts. Not that I don’t love those, I do, but I am such a denim freak, it’s pretty much my daily uniform. Skinny, flares, shorts, skirts, blue, black, white, it doesn’t matter. I love them all. They are practical, classic and everyone looks good in jeans! Of course there are those (see bellow) who look extraordinary but still, it’s by far the most flexible and flattering garment for daily life.
♥ Some Ladies in denim that I adore:
Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver
Vanessa Paradis for Spanish Vogue October 2010
Mademoiselle Bardot
Sienna Miller for Pepe Jeans clicked by Mikael Jansson
Marilyn
Model Jessica Miller as Jane Birkin for Vogue Paris (I love this photo!)
and of course, Kate, clicked by Corinne Day for Calvin Klein
♥ Oh, and just because it’s sunny and the weekend is almost here (yay!):

What will you be up to?
Lots of love from Lisbon.

December is finally here. I have looked around my house and deep inside my closet and have made a very detailed and precise shopping list. Ignoring all the irrelevant but not less lovely things we buy for Christmas, I firmly believe that it’s the perfect season for:
♥ Lingerie
I just published three new illustration pieces for an article on “Vogue’s favorite lingerie boutique”, the gorgeous London-based Apartment C.
According to their philosophy, “Apartment C is about hanging out in your knickers, drinking gin out of a teacup, and reading the Last Tango in Paris out loud“, which sounds fabulously lazy and appealing in every sense. I love their pieces. Some are sexy, others are girlie, but they’re all delicate and very well crafted. Check out the whole article on Amelia’s Magazine.
♥ A new book:
30 illustrators (including me! yay!), the most talked about Ethical Fashion Designers out there, interviews and plenty of amazing art, this is the latest, most beautiful book by independent editor and publisher Amelia Gregory. It’s unmissable and I am DYING to see it!
Here is a sneaky peek inside some of its pages:
How incredible is that? I can’t describe how amazing it is to know that I’ll be in a book, alongside artists I absolutely love and respect. It’s an unbelievable feeling and I am so honored and proud, I can’t stop talking about it!
The book is already available for pre-orders, just in time for Christmas, so hurry up! For more information, click here.
This is it from me this week. I wish you all a warm and inspiring weekend. Any great plans so far?
Lots of love from bright Lisbon. ♥
