…on whatever little scrap of paper I may come across.

This one was green.

Honestly, I have so many of these sketches all over the place, it’s maddening. My girls are everywhere: at home, on my desk at work, inside the drawers, on the kitchen table, and so on. I should really start to collect them and do something with them. Maybe an illustration collage at some point? That might be a nice project.

Good week so far? :)

A couple of months ago I was commissioned to produce illustration for Fashion Africa, a beautiful new book about African Fashion Design by designer, blogger and founder of the Africa Fashion Guide, Jacqueline Shaw.

I was thrilled! Apart from being such a wonderful project, the designs I was asked to illustrate were the most colorful and charismatic pieces I have seen in a long time. An absolute joy to draw!

The book launch is on Friday, 9th September, in London. I can’t post the full drawings yet, but here are some sneaky peeks:

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to go to London for the book launch. It’s a shame, as I would LOVE to attend and do some live illustration on the spot (like I did for the launch of Amelia’s Compendium of Fashion Illustration. It was amazing!).

I can’t wait to see the book, though. I am expecting some very bright and colorful pages.

For more details about the launch, the book and its author, visit the African Fashion Guide website here.

Lots of love from Lisbon.

Good morning, world!

I was backing up my computer just now, and found this very old scribble I did a million years ago. I love finding old illustration work, especially when it’s unexpected. Sometimes I cringe, other times, I laugh. This is a cute one, I think. I like the dress.

I’m sorry if I’ve been a little absent lately. I’ve had so much work to do, it’s unreal! Apart from working on an enormous advertising campaign, I am also rushing to try to finish two books I am illustrating. So please do bear with me, I’ll be on good form once the madness is over.

Hahaha. I wish! Via Pinterest.

Have a great week, everyone.

Lots of love from Lisbon.

Mr. Jobs, you most certainly rock!

Thank you.

I love this! It never gets old.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone.
