Tomorrow is the 1st of December, the official day for Christmas decorating. I don’t know about most people, but I have already started decorating and already put up my Christmas tree.

This is me, busy decorating away :)

To be very honest, my tree doesn’t feel quite finished yet, but it’s starting to look rather nice.

I like big, magical trees, full of colorful ornaments, lights and little details. When I was a child, my mum used to make the most beautiful trees. She had these very old ornaments that I haven’t seen anywhere since, and our trees used to look amazing. Shame this was in Brazil and boiling summer outside (so much for the magic), but I have wonderful memories and it’s definitely my favorite holiday.

How about you? Are any of you planning to decorate a xmas tree tomorrow? If you do, post pictures on your blog! I would love to see it.

Happy decorating and a beautiful December to everyone.

It might be cold and raining outside, but today I am thinking of summer.

I just published a new piece of illustration for a review of the new Spring/Summer 2011 collections of a selected number of British brands. I was asked to illustrate Aqua.

Image source: Aqua’s online store catalogue. Check out their blog too. It’s cool.

I think their cuts are beautiful, flattering and the colors, so delicious. Although it’s freezing outside, I think some of these dresses could be worn for a Christmas party. Summer is a long way away, after all. It’s seems such a pity to wait that long.

This was the piece I published.

Read the whole review on Amelia’s Magazine.

Lots of love from Lisbon and have a beautiful week.

First Mickey Mouse balloon to appear on the Thanksgiving Parade. 29 Nov 1934, Broadway & 105th Street, New York City.

Unfortunately we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in Portugal which is a shame as it involves everything the Portuguese love: family, wine and food, LOTS of food. But anyway, it’s a lovely holiday and a gorgeous day to be thankful for everything beautiful that we have in our lives.

I am thankful for my fiancé, who is the most amazing man in the world.

This is us, on a beach in Brazil a couple of years ago. :)

I am thankful for having such good friends in my life, some of whom are the most incredible people I have ever met.

And of course, I am thankful for my pens and markers and for being able to draw, which I love so much.

Wishing you a beautiful and inspiring Thanksgiving.

Ever since my dad gave me a new camera, I have once again fallen in love with taking pictures. Last time I enjoyed it this much was at University, where I studied photography. As part of the course we had to learn to use medium and large format cameras, develop the films ourselves and print the images in the dark room. I used to love the process and spent hours in the dark surrounded by chemicals and paper. Sadly, I’ve gradually forgotten everything I learned and somehow, when I got into digital, I never enjoyed taking pictures again. Sure I loved bringing my camera everywhere and snapping photos of my friends, but when it came to photographing anything else, I hated the results. That is until I got a proper camera. It is a Canon 500D and it’s so lovely. It doesn’t make me a better photographer (I am as amateur as it gets!) but it does make the whole experience much more enjoyable.

Here are some pretty things I saw in Prague over the summer holidays.

This illustration is by my boyfriend. He’s an architect and really good at pencil drawing.

And this is me, snapping away in Prague :)

Holiday scribble: black markers on sketchbook.

Lots of love from Lisbon

I love being inspired by film characters and this is such a good one (the character and the film). I highly recommend it.
